Company Information

Based in Minneapolis, Minn., Visual Circuits was founded in 1989 to provide customers with leading-edge, digital video compression and decompression technologies, which make it possible to record, playback, control and transmit high resolution video in commercial applications. The company mission is to design, manufacture and sell the highest quality, innovative digital video systems, subcomponents and software for large market commercial applications.

The flagship product, the 4-ReelTime Pro, is a four-channel, PCI MPEG-2 decoder card. The drivers, NT and Linux, are optimized for multi-card support. An extremely robust and versatile product, the 4-ReelTime Pro cards have been sold around the world into a wide variety of digital video applications. Key features include cross-channel and cross-card frame accurate synchronization and both file-based and pointer-based dataflow options.

Contribution

Visual Circuits donated two of the 4-ReelTime Pro cards and two of the RT Daughter Card to the Hypermedia Studio. This technology was used for the production of "Behind the Bars" which premiered at the Central American Festival of Film and Audio-Visual Production.
